CHARITY FISHING MATCH
On Sunday 18th April 2010, Henlow Bridge Lakes hosted a half day charity pairs fishing match with proceeds being donated to the Garden City Hospice at Letchworth. The event was sponsored by Henlow Building Supplies, Linxcroft Construction Ltd and Waterline Angling Products Ltd with £515.00 being raised on the day with the generous support of the sponsors and anglers taking part.
Sixteen pairs of Anglers took part and winning trophies were awarded to Roger Griffiths and Colin Price of Stevenage with a total weight of 18lb 7oz. 1st Runners up were Terry Benford and Rob Harrod of Stevenage with 11lb 10oz and 2nd runners up were husband and wife team Sue and Colin Farmer of Stotfold with 8lb 10oz. Sue Farmer also won biggest fish caught of 5lb. “Paddy” Clowery was presented with a junior fishing kit by the organisers in recognition of his need for improvement of his fishing skills.
The good weather and fishing company made the day very enjoyable and deemed a big success by all taking part and supporting generously for a local charity. Special thanks to Sue Carrigan, Dave and Billie Carstairs, Tom Mitchael and Paul Sapiano who helped on the day.
